There's only one real game that showed signs Trubisky might still be a reliable Mut 23 coins starter quarterback, which was played in the second week of preseason in 2021. It was called the "Trubisky Revenge Game" this is Mitch coming back to Chicago to face the Bears with a vengeance, and was able to rip them down by throwing 20 of 28 passes for 221 yards and the score of a touchdown. It was a nice game, sure, but is it enough to justify a big contract? It's not, but only because teams believe it is.
To be fair, it's not really about that particular game and more about the perception that the Bears had a lack of competence in managing the previous no. 2 overall selection. This is probably a decent bet, but it also calls for a major gamble.
If we assume Trubisky earns $10 million each year (and in truth, it's possible to go much higher) that's nearly double the amount Teddy Bridgewater made signing with the Broncos last year. That's almost triple what Marcus Mariota made. Both players are more well-known commodities than Trubisky and Mariota, yet desperation creates bizarre bedfellows. No doubt, these are times of extreme need when teams needing QBs. They're in a tough spot.
Steelers and Saints are working to recover from the departure of their Hall of Fame caliber QBs, the Giants aren't completely convinced of Daniel Jones (and rumored to be interested in Trubisky) and the Seahawks need a new QB after the trade of Russell Wilson, the Colts are searching for a passer too as are the Panthers seem to only sign QBs on the spur of the moment at this point , even if things go badly.
Compounding these issues is an unpopular draft at the position. Even the staunchest supporters of the 2022 QB class concede that all these players need seasoning. There's no obvious Day 1 starter, outside of maybe Kenny Pickett, though he has his own doubts about hand size, attitude, and ability to translate his game to the Madden NFL 23. The most intriguing prospect, Malik Willis, is completely unprepared to run a franchise right away -- and his success will likely hinge upon landing with a stable and stable team where he can spend a year or two behind a seasoned QBto master not only the Madden NFL 23 offensive, but also have the opportunity to practice against Madden NFL 23 rivals.
Should the gamble be right If the gamble is right, and Trubisky truly was the result of being in the wrong spot at the wrong time A salary of $10 million a year is a bargain for a starting QB. But it's more like a bet than a game plan and the teams who need quarterbacks today need solid plans.
There's a good argument to be made for doing both. It could mean signing Trubisky on a short-term contract and also signing another QB to be waiting in the wings. This is a great combination of both worlds approach that could please the fans instantly, while having a clear plan for the future. It would also allow Trubisky to demonstrate what he can do as a starter in a fresh situation, potentially cheap madden 23 coins getting another big contract at the tail end of his troubles.
