More about our guest speaker: John Thompson currently leads our Member Workshop on Bonsai Styling, held on the second Wednesday evening of each month. He also writes the Tree Tips articles for the SCBK and Midori Bonsai Newsletter, and contributes articles to publications for the American Bonsai Society and the Golden State Bonsai Federation, among others.

In his workshops and demonstrations, he tries to utilize the unique characteristics or flaws in each tree that will set it apart from others of the same species. He is, perhaps, best known for his driving passion for Oaks, Junipers, Boxwoods, Cypress, Pines, Deciduous species, and other collected trees.
